Learn how to start or run a business that you truly love, without the stress.
Embarking on an entrepreneurial journey to start a business, or run an existing business is not for the faint of heart. It requires us to release our employee mindset, embrace radically expansive thinking, and lean into our creative problem solving. All of this while trying not to get burnt out.
That last part is the real key: running a business without getting burnt out.
Over the last 8 years of running Tera Kaia I've learned these lessons so you don't have to.
In my experience running a grassroots business I've learned so many lessons I can barely contain them in my brain. So, this year I decided to begin expanding that knowledge outwards to help others pursue their passion, and break free from the 9 to 5.
I've put together a curriculum of Business Mindset Coaching & Training that combines spirituality with visualization to help creative entrepreneurs build the life they dream of. On a limited basis, I'm also available to work with clients to provide 1-on-1 strategy and guidance.
If you are a person who is curious about starting, or are actively running a business read on for more details.
Here's what I've learned about running a grassroots business:
Visualizing your future business happiness is the foundation.
When you start your business: If you're unclear on where you're going, you'll never get there.
Going into business without truly understanding yourself is like going into the desert without a map.
When I first started Tera Kaia, I knew I wanted to make something that would change people's lives. I had some ideas about how we could get there, but the truth of the matter is that reality rarely unfolds the way you expect it to. As a result, the 6 years that followed were full of trial and error: and I eventually found the path TK was meant to be on. If I had known back then how to truly visualize the future from the perspective of understanding what would light me up, and make my work meaningful, that process would have been so much simpler.
So, I documented the process of how I found that path, and distilled it into a simple set of exercises, and visualizations to shortcut you past the stress.
BK's mindset training curriculum: The 8 Phases to Transform your Business Mindset.
Visualizing the Future: To start the process of transformation we'll use techniques of visualization, breathing, and meditation to unearth what you truly want your future to look like. In the process you'll get a deeper understanding of your authentic purpose: the thing that "lights you up". In buddhism this is called your Darma, and how you can integrate it into your work.
What this solves:
- Lack of clarity on the future.
- Unsure how or when you'll reach a place of happiness.
- Feeling disconnected from your authentic purpose as it relates to work.
Mindset training is the key to business success.
Your mindset has to be ready for the extreme ups and downs, and unknowns of business
The most important lesson I can share with anyone interested in starting or running a major entrepreneurial project is that they will have to release their employee mindset. As an employee, the factors, context, and logistics of your work are all put in place for you. You're given a specific role with clarity and focus, with someone checking in with you along the way.
Your job as an employee is to show up, and do your job well.
Running a business couldn't be more opposite from that reality. As a self employed individual, nothing is defined or consistent - unless you make it that way. The factors and context in which you work are constantly changing. You'll likely have to learn a variety of different specialized roles. Most importantly, there is no guarantee that your income will appear. You have to make it appear.
The mindset required to deal with that level of uncertainty and unknowns isn't something that is taught in school, and it's the reason why most businesses fail. So, after training my own mind in this technique, I'm now helping other business owners to become resilient despite this uncertain environment of self employment.
Running your own business can be lonely: but it shouldn't have to be.
Starting a business is often coupled with financial stress, decision fatigue, and being completely over-worked. We're expected to learn everything ourselves, and the to-do list never gets shorter.
Getting help from someone with direct experience in a variety of areas will shortcut the process. That's where 1-on-1 coaching can help.
Work with BK Directly: For a limited quantity of clients, I'm available to work directly via 1-on-1 coaching and strategy. Here you get access to my experience in many fields of business operations including marketing, logistics, and most importantly: mindset.
What this solves:
- Decision fatigue
- Getting a third party perspective
- Support & guidance
- Strategy advising
- Clarity on where to go next
- Help staying on track
- Access to many areas of expertise

Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from the process?
The 8 Phases is a curriculum of lessons, meditations, and rituals to help you transform your mindset towards your highest goal. We'll start with visualize: where we get super clear on where it is you want to go, and what your ideal future looks like. From there we'll move through the remaining 7 phases to keep you directly on the path towards that goal. You'll learn to release your employee mindset, live your purpose, and truly take charge of your own work path.
How is this different from other coaching?
While most business coaching focuses on solving whatever problems you have at hand, this process takes a more holistic approach to programming your mindset and architecting your future to become happy, peaceful, and fulfilled in life. Instead of reacting to every issue or problem that pops up, providing only temporary relief, we’ll instead build a firm foundation that your business or project can stand upon.
Who is this best for?
This process is for anyone who is undertaking a huge project or business that will have a significant impact on their life. I don't recommend this option for folks who are taking a more traditional career path as the context is a bit different.
